Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity Initiatives
One of the main aims of the UEMS is to defend and promote the interests of medical specialists at European level, taking into account the increasing shortage and mental health of health professionals, and this includes defending equality, diversity and inclusivity in workplaces.
Thematic Federations work on transverse matters of interests for all medical specialists, such as their working conditions and notably on equality, diversity & inclusivity or sustainable medical practice. The Thematic Federation for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity was established in 2021.
Our Section will actively contribute to this group to not only address issues related to inclusion of people with mental illness, but also make sure that all medical training and continuous medical education takes it into account, regardless of specialty.
